چکیده
Purpose: We evaluated the utility of peripheral vitrectomy featuring scleral indentation; we compared a group who underwent to control for whom was combined with fixation intraocular lenses (IOLs) in patients exhibiting IOL dislocations. Methods: From January 2018 December 2020, 20 eyes evidencing dislocations that total vitrectomy, removal, and were evaluated; indentation performed 10 patients. All operations by same surgeon. excluded follow-up periods less than 6 months, those history retinal and/or glaucoma surgery, abnormalities or might significantly compromise visual acuity. The postoperative best-corrected acuity, pressure, astigmatism changes, complications retrieved from medical records. Results: Six months after best corrected acuity 0.95 (the Snellen measure) indentation, 0.60 (p = 0.029). values 0.48 diopter former 2.80 latter group; difference significant < 0.001).Conclusions: In fixation, improvements further enhanced when indentation. Complete removal vitreous may stabilize positioning remnant vitreous.

Scleral Fixation Intraocular lenses
Background: The 1ry indication for scleral fixation of intraocular lenses (IOL) is dislocation as a principal complication of cataract surgery. Inadequate capsular support is the most common cause of IOL dislocation. Other indications include traumatic phakic lens dislocation (cataractous or clear), surgically aphakic eyes or anterior chamber IOL with complications (persistent hyphema, uveitis)...

PURPOSE To evaluate the outcome for scleral fixation of a foldable acrylic intraocular lens (IOL) in aphakic post-pars plana vitrectomy eyes for vitreoretinal disease. METHODS The medical records of 15 patients were reviewed. We evaluated such factors as the underlying vitreoretinal disease, preoperative expected refraction and postoperative actual refraction, best corrected visual acuity (BC...
متن کاملIntraoperative electrophysiological evaluations of macular function during peripheral scleral indentation
Scleral indentation is widely used to examine the peripheral fundus, however it can increase the intraocular pressure (IOP) to high levels which can then affect retinal function. We evaluated the effects of scleral indentation on the macular function electrophysiologically. Intraoperative focal macular electroretinograms (iFMERGs) were recorded with and without controlling the IOP in 7 eyes. Wi...

METHODS Twelve patients with complicated cataract surgery or trauma who hadsuffered nucleus, whole crystalline lens or intraocular lens (IOL) ...
